Volunteer for the 2013 Trailing of the Sheep Festival The Trailing of the Sheep Festival would not take place every year without the dedication of more than 200 volunteers. The community of Hailey and Ketchum, along with devotees from all over the country, volunteer in a variety of ways to make the event a success. They are highly appreciated and are a critical complement to our volunteer board of directors and event committee.
Volunteer opportunities include: taking tickets, ushering, hosting presenters and performers, working events, helping the press, taking surveys, working at the dog trials, working at one of the many events, tending bar, and working at our guest services desk.
We invite you to become a part of our Event Committee! We meet monthly and you can be a part of the planning and preparation for the Festival. It is a very rewarding experience and a great way to meet and work with people from all over Idaho. This year we need:
• Director of Lodging
• Assistant director of the Sheepdog Trials
• Volunteer coordinator
• Video marketing assistant
But it’s not all work! Volunteers have a great time watching performances, meeting people from all over the country, and getting to know the performers. As a volunteer, you are also contributing directly to the Trailing of the Sheep Cultural Heritage Center’s mission to
"gather, present, and preserve the history and culture of sheepherding in Idaho and the West." If you are interested in volunteering at the Festival or throughout the year, please contact:
