Learn to Knit
Each Wednesday Starting April 2nd
5:30pm - 7:00pm
Hailey Public Library - 7 W. Croy, Hailey
Learn to Knit” is a free, 4-week class co-taught by master knitters Patricia Lirk and Joanne Squire! The series will focus on the basics and participants will create a personal project. Classes will be held each Wednesday from 5:30-7:00 PM starting April 1 at the Library, 7 West Croy. Participants should bring their own yarn and needles.
Patricia Lirk first learned to knit through a store she worked at 30 years ago and has been hooked ever since. She opened Sun Valley Needle Arts in Ketchum in 2010 and shares her talents teaching classes for the general public, girl scout troops and attendees at local conferences. Her friend and colleague, Joanne Squire is a long-time local knitter.
Workshop enrollment is limited. Please register by emailing library.staff@haileypubliclibrary.org.

Animal Landscapes-Kristina Foley
Opening August 29th through the Festival
5:00pm - 7:00pm
Hemmings Gallery - 340 Walnut Ave, Ketchum
For this exhibition, Foley combines wool from a flock of endangered Navajo-Churro sheep near her Western Oregon home with fine Merino from Shaniko Wool Company. This pairing opens a dialogue about the cultural legacy and sustainable future of wool in the American West, a conversation deeply connected to Sun Valley’s own centuries-long tradition of sheep ranching.

The Community Library in Ketchum Offers Opportunities to Learn More About the Community While In Town
To dig into more local stories and history, The Community Library's Wood River Museum of History + Culture has two guided audio walking tours available on the Bloomberg Connects app. One tour features Ernest Hemingway related locations in Ketchum and Sun Valley and is voiced by his granddaughter, Mariel Hemingway. Another tour on the guide is a Ketchum walking tour that fills in the history of over 22 locations with audio, video and historic photos.
