Syringa Mountain School Third Graders Process Loca Syringa Mountain School Third Graders Process Locally Donated Yarn! In Waldorf education, the third-grade year focuses on practical life activities. Learning these skills helps students understand their significance and the impact they’ve had on the development of communities throughout history. Students are often amazed by how much time it takes to grow a single plant or process wool into just one foot of yarn. This experience greatly deepens their appreciation for where their food and clothing come from. Processing wool to create yarn holds particular significance in our school, due to our local connection to sheep herding.
